Pietersite and Sterling Silver Ring
Pietersite was discovered in Namibia in 1962 by Namibian mineralogist, Sid Pieters. It is an amazing stone with some properties similar to, but not the same as Tiger Eye. Ric built a bolo tie with a larger piece of Pietersite and it was that project where the surface finish and jagged edges originated. Although the edges are jagged, they are not sharp, Ric takes great care in making sure his work is user/wearer friendly. Ric was trying to create the illusion of the stone continuing past its actual dimensions. It actually took him three attempts before he was satisfied with the results. This ring is approximately size 9 and is one-of-a-kind.
