Dark Blue Denim Lapis + 14K Gold Bead

The ring is sterling silver. The stone is dark blue denim lapis. The 14K gold bead is prominent in the photo. The bits surrounding the stone were the result of pouring an ingot and not noticing that the lip on the crucible spout was broken. Molten silver sort of went everywhere except into the mold. (It's always something) Ric saved these bits and at some point after he acquired the stone, he realized they would make an interesting border. The underside view shows several depressions, these were created when he drilled through the base and into the silver bits and pinned them in place to solder them. This view also shows the band very well. There is a fold in the band that was created with a method called, funny enough, fold forming. The fold is low profile enough that it is not even noticeable while wearing the ring. There is also a sleeve in the band so it is very comfortable and gave a surface to stamp on. This ring is approximately size 7-1/4.
